Focus Range Limiter : Features that have on the Newer lenses of Nikon, the AF-I and AF-S Nikkors.

Focus range. The minimum and maximum distances within which a camera is able to produce a sharp image, such as two inches to infinity.

Focus Range
The ratio of Spot to Flood for a given light. Example: 800 fc to 100 fc = 8:1. The more the better, if it's also smooth.

Closest focus range
Shortest distance on which can be focused.
Contrast
The degree of difference between a subject's tones, which is a function of its inherent shades and colors and also the quality of light.

Focus range
Normal: 80 cm (2.6 ft)
Macro: 20 cm (0.6 ft)
Normal: 60 cm (2.0 ft)
Macro: 20 cm (0.6 ft) ...

Note how the focus range increases as the aperture is stopped down.
The range of the depth of field varies with the focal length of lens being used - the wider the angle of the lens, the more the depth of field so focusing is much less critical.

Extension tube: The extension tube has no glass inside, but does move the lens farther from the sensor plane, thereby shifting the focus range.

focus range, n thats it.
U have set every thing manually, so now, ur camera don't have to do any pre-pic configuration or calculate nething.
The way I do, when I don't use "manual",is

With one menu or dial selection you are instantly telling the camera how to adjust a dozen or more diffrerent things: white balance, focus range, metering, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, whether or not to use flash, ...

Since your focus range will be so limited though, actual gains will likely be modest.

boost contrast (to some degree) via an imaging application today. Beyond contrast there's no quantitative way to classify the characteristic of the bokeh (out-of-focus blur), the degree of flare and the performance variations across the focus range.
