Ocular means related to the eye. It is used as a technical term for an eyepiece or eyepiece lens.
Without a manual focus screen you're just going to have squint through the viewfinder and hope. Or buy an actual manual-focus camera that fits your lens.

Next, locate the tab on the front edge of the focus screen and grasp it with the tweezers. Lift the old screen up and out of the camera body and take note of its orientation so you will be able to hold the new one the same way.
The image as the lens sees it, is relayed through a prism or mirror system directly up to a focus screen which can be seen through the viewfinder.
