Frames can be made from virtually anything. The more you look for them, the more you will start to see them. Things like trees, grass and rocks can be found in nature. Doorways, arches, and window frames also work well.

Frames work best if they are darker than your main subject, so take your light reading from the subject and let the frame fall into darkness.

A full-frame sensor is one with approximately the same dimensions as a frame of 35mm film. Unlike the smaller, cropped sensors, there is no field of view multiplier so a lens has the same field of view as it would on a film camera.

There are a number of basic rules about the framing of a picture. Most basic is the Golden Ratio (1:1.618), which is supposed to be the most pleasing to view.

The speed with which film moves past the gate. For movies, 24 is normal in the USA. Higher rates produce Slow Motion (by providing more frames during projection).

Frame: A border, outlining and enhancing photos, type, or tint blocks, that has a specified thickness, style and color.

Dark Frame - A noise reduction process whereby a camera takes a second exposure of a black frame after the camera takes a long exposure (1/2-second or longer) image.

Full frame equivalent
You'll sometimes see phrases such as "full frame equivalent" or "35mm equivalent" in conjunction with lenses designed for subframe sensors, such as EF-S lenses.

Full-frame cons
- hard to take advantage of the Nikon 14-24mm underwater, because it doesn't take a diopter
- housing are generally more expensive
- less depth of field at the same aperture and field of view.

How to frame an image
If you hang a picture, you do not just hammer a nail into the first clear space on a wall you see. The same applies for framing your subject in your picture.

How to Frame Sepia Tone Photos
Sepia tones have an advantage over color or black and white photography when it comes to framing.

Open the black frame file alongside an image that has noise.
Shift + Drag the black frame Background layer over the noisy image workspace to create a new layer. (Holding the Shift key ensures that the new layer maintains perfect registration.

1. Use the frame to eliminate distracting information around a subject. Take extra care with image information that touches the frame, as it will draw extra attention. Do this with significant compositional elements.
