-Front element focusing - system of lens focusing in which only the front component of a compound lens moves backward and forward to adjust focus.
(For a small number of cameras, the same effect is achieved by fixing the lens relative to the body and using a knob on the back of the body to move the film plane.) In simpler designs, only the front element is moved - Front Element Focusing.
However, the Olympus 14-42mm kit lens with its comparatively heavy front element focusing, seems to be the main thing holding the E-P2 back - it's still noticeably slower to focus than the Panasonics if used with this lens.
