Gadget bag

Not only is it generally the most expensive item in the gadget bag, it is also the centerpiece of his kit. What you need to remember, is that you are buying into a system, not just a stand alone body.

After a good bit of deliberation, I settled on a Canon Gadget Bag 2. Its a smallish bag that can accommodate a body with lens, and 2-3 more lenses, a flash, a fair bit of film, compact binoculars filters and accessories.

Another useful filter which you may want to keep in your gadget bag is a polarizing filter. This consists of two pieces of glass that rotate in relation to each other and have the effect of cutting out stray rays of light. This has two main uses.

Don't buy a tiddly little thing just because it will fit into your gadget bag. Most of them are worse than useless. The trick is to get the right balance between weight and strength.

I'm told these are new. These come in sizes for tiny pocket cameras to small gadget bags. I love the Swiss Army products. Even though these cases don't come from Switzerland; they are well made.

Tripod: You needn't spend a mint on a tripod, but since lower-cost tripods may not be as rock steady as pricier models, hang your gadget bag from the center posgt to give it a stronger center of gravity.

It is a good idea anyway to invest in a comfortable gadget bag for your camera and lenses. Do not expose your camera to high temperatures and always protect it from water, especially salt water, dust and sand.
