Hot spot - often undesirable concentration of the central beam of a flood or spotlight on the subject. Hue - name of the color (e.g. red, blue, yellow). Hydrobromic acid - acid liberated during the developing process by the reduction of bromide.
Eliminate Hot Spots. Any highly reflective surface behind your subject, such as glass or mirrors, will reflect the flash back to the camera's lens where it is recorded onto the film. This will result in hot spots on your images.

A note on multi-point metering:
DSLR cameras commonly allow the user to adjust exposure hot spots within a frame, thereby choosing between either a single or center-weighted point for metering - or - multiple points for averaged metering.
I also did a little on some shadows and painted back white on a hot spot (Figure 8). The result is a more dramatic photo because I haven't tried to reduce the multiply effect from the whole image, only on specific areas (Figure 9).
