IF Lens A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel. Find out more.

IF
Internal Focus - This means that instead of the lens rotating and telescoping as it focuses, the focusing action is done inside the lens. This leads to a more compact and quick lens.

IF (internal/inner focusing)
One of the middle lens groups in front of the diaphragm moves during focusing resulting in fast AF and light manual focusing. No change in physical length of the lens body which also remains quite small.

IF YOU ARE IN MANUAL MODE AND HAVE SELECTED A F-STOP AND SHUTTER SPEED, THEN INCREASING THE ISO WILL RESULT IN THE BRIGHTNESS INCREASING. OR DECREASING THE ISO WILL DECREASE THE BRIGHTNESS. ALL THIS IF THE SHUTTER SPEED AND THE F-STOP REMAIN CONSTANT.

IF you cannot find the specific terms here, try the Big Glossary Page.
Auto Exposure Bracketing: Auto Exposure Bracketing performs automatic exposure bracketing with varied shutter speed and/or aperture.

IF ALL EXPOSURE VARIABLES STAY THE SAME (ie. you do not change the value of ISO, shutter speed or f-stop), if your environmental light gets brighter (ie. the sun breaks through a cloud), the light meter will move on its own toward the positive.

IF I had to choose between the two I would always pick the bright cloudy option, simply because it has a better overall contrast/luminosity balance.

IF - Internal Focus. Lenses with this designation move the inner lens group or groups without changing the lens' physical length to ensure stability in focusing.

IF YOU WANNA shoot volleyball game pics
that means moving object pics
use the ISO mode for it .
ISO is used for very high sensitivity .

200-400mm f/4G IF-ED AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor: This lens sounds like a killer tool for sports shooters although I have no idea if I'll ever own one. Unless it could replace my 400f/2.

8G IF-ED as I am a fixed focal length gal and this is one lens I love!
The third item is a tripod. I used my Manfrotto but any tripod will do.

I have been a freelance for over 20 years now IF your just starting out this is my opinion only i would

5 G IF-ED kit lens. Results with other camera-lens configurations may differ. The purpose of the images in this review was purely functional. They are intentionally "bad" in order to test the performance of DxO Optics Pro.

We also discuss composition techniques for taking better photographs. For example, sometimes taking a photo that shows part of a subject makes a more interesting picture than one that includes the full scene.

8G IF-ED lens that likely heralds the beginning of upgrading all of Nikon's big glass to include VR, something the other guys have had for some time now.

6G IF-ED is used at 200mm focal length: A photographer shooting at a 1/125 second shutter speed may avoid camera shake 70% of the time.

For macro I prefer the Canon 100mm USM IF. It’s got the fastest autofocus response in a macro lens that I’ve ever used. I’d use the new Canon 60mm macro but it’s EF-S only.

Open up your lens to IF/5.6 or lower to blur the background. This can be done with point-and-shoot cameras by putting the camera on "portrait" mode.

The most important thing I con tell you about taking pictures underwater is "IF YOU CAN'T TAKE A JOKE, DON'T TAKE UP UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY".

Many Canon lenses use rear focussing (RF) or internal focussing (IF) instead. In rear focussing the lens elements closest to the camera move back and forth when you focus but the frontmost elements do not.

produce DNG as their RAW format: Hasselblad H2D, Leica Digital-Module-R (for the R8 and R9 SLRs), Ricoh GR Digital, and Samsung Pro 815. The latter two are high-end point-and-shoot models, not SLRs. I suspect that more cameras will be forthcoming IF ...

It implies that Deborah Marlin has some deep understanding of Golden Retrievers, and that when I view her photographs, I connect with that deep understanding, EVEN IF I don't know much about Goldens. That's nice, isn't it?

8 EX DG IF HSM APO, a monopod and a Nikon D3s body with more than enough memory cards for the three songs I would be allocated to shoot (more on that later). Also, for good measure, I packed my trusty Nikon D300, an older Nikon 35-70mm f/2.
