From the "Pro" designation it would appear that DxO Optics Pro targets the prosumer and professional digital photographer. Although many such photographers will shoot a combination of RAW and JPEG, DxO currently only supports JPEG.

Image formats do have a resolution field as part of the file header. Some applications use this as defaults when you open the file, but you are not bound by what is recorded there.

The 120 film allows several image formats, the most common being the "6Ã-6" (more exactly 56Ã-56 mm) square format. It is sometimes referred to as "2¼ Ã- 2¼" inch (or 2¼ square) format, though this is less common.
dcraw is an open source computer program able to read several raw image formats, and convert them into the PPM and TIFF image formats. It is written by Dave Coffin in ANSI C.

You can also import files in the above image formats that use CMYK color mode, but all the processing work and the output will be done in RGB color space.
There are many commonly used digital image formats in use. Some of the most used are TIFF, BMP, GIF, and JPEG. The image format specification dictates what image information is present and how it is organized in memory.
High-resolution images may saved in BMP, TIFF, or RAW image formats. These are large file type images. High resolution settings vary with each camera. A low resolution setting on one camera is a high resolution setting on another.
