Indexed colour image
An image where each pixel value is used as an index to a palette for interpretation before it can be displayed. Such image must, therefore, contain a palette which has been initialized specifically for a given image.

 


BMP
BMP is a standard Windows image format on DOS and Windows-compatible computers. BMP format supports RGB, Indexed Colour, Grayscale, and Bitmap colour modes.
