Kelvin Temperature of Illumination When you are producing color copies, the Kelvin temperature (color) of the light source should match the color balance of the color film being used.
This photo was taken in my home studio using my 1Ds MK II at ISO 100 and White Lightning studio lights. In camera white balance was set to 4800 Kelvin. Lisa is the sister of a friend of mine. She has very natural looking 'Caucasian' flesh tones.
Kelvin (K) In photographic terminology, Kelvin refers to the color temperature of light; i.e. a low temperature (say 3200 K degrees) is warm, reddish-orange light, whereas a high temperature (say 5600 K degrees) is a cool, bluish light.
Kelvin an absolute scale of temperature (Kelvin Scale) where the degree intervals are equal to those of the Celsius scale and where 0º or absolute zero equals "273.16º C; symbol is K. (Color temperature of light is measured in Kelvin).
Kelvin White Balance Although the EOS 300D doesn't provide a Kelvin color temperature white balance option in-camera it is possible to set a Kelvin color temperature in FileViewerUtility when converting RAW files.

K (Kelvin) Abbreviation for Kelvin temperature, the measurement of the redness or blueness of white light. This is written without the degree sign.
Kelvin, like Fahrenheit and Centigrade, is a scale for measuring temperature. Zero degrees Kelvin (this is defined as absolute zero where there is no molecular movement) corresponds to -459.67? Fahrenheit.
Kelvin Named after a Scots scientist of the 19th century, the Kelvin scale is another way to measure temperature like Fahrenheit or Celsius. Light consists of various colors, as you can see when light passes through a prism.
Kelvin (K): Unit of measurement on the absolute temperature scale, used to describe the color content of continuous spectrum light sources. kHz - kilohertz: ...
Kelvin. A scale use to measure the colour temperature. 5000 K refer to normal daylight. K 14 Kodak's chemical process for developing Kodachrome slides.

Kelvin - A measure of the level of color temperatures contained in different sources of light.
Keystoning - A distortion, typically of a projected image, where the sides of the image appear to narrow at either its top or bottom.
Kelvin scale Temperature scale beginning at absolute zero (approx. -273° Celsius = 0 Kelvin). Therefore Celsius values can easily be converted into Kelvin by adding 273 degrees to the Celsius value. (Colour temperature) ...
Kelvin scale. (includes a list of colour temperatures) Photo.net: A-TTL and E-TTL. What is the difference? Photo.net: Elan IIe and 380 ex fill flash.
The Kelvin scale generally used with photography ranges from red to white and then through blue. This covers a visible light spectrum and not the entire light spectrum.
Kelvin Scale This is the temperature scale which uses the same size of degree as the Celsius or Centigrade system, but which begins at absolute zero, the coldest temperature possible corresponding to the lowest possible energy state of a system.
If Kelvin temperature is uniformly the same throughout the scene, life is simple! But you can expect a significant variation in Kelvin temperature within many scenes.
Any particular film is balanced for one color of light (expressed in degrees Kelvin). In most situations, there is not an absolutely perfect match between the temperature of the light and the temperature for which the film is rated.

Color Temperature is expressed in degrees Kelvin (K). Daylight on a clear day is about 6500° Kelvin—a mix of direct sun at 5500°K and skylight at 9500°K.
For the sake of those unfamiliar with the Kelvin temperature color, allow me a brief digression. Baron Kelvin was the title of a guy whose real name was William Thomson who lived in nineteenth century Britain.
A calibration of color temperature to a degree on the Kelvin scale where white reads as white, rather than the varying shades of white caused by different lighting conditions.
La temperatura del color se mide en 'kelvins' antes conocidos como ‘grados kelvin'. Para captar la idea, piensa en un trozo de metal calentado al fuego.
The two major types are daylight (5000° Kelvin) and tungsten (3200° K). Daylight film is by far the most common. It is for use under (surprise!) daylight, and also most strobe or flash.
Overcast skies are slightly more blue (7000 degrees Kelvin) than the color temperature for which daylight film is designed (5500 K; a mixture of direct sun and skylight).
Light of various temperatures is associated with a temperature in Kelvin. For example, a candle is about 1500 K, a standard light bulb about 3400 K, and the flash on your camera about 5600 K. Light from a sunset, for example, is a rich golden yellow.
Ironically, warmer objects (those registering higher Kelvin temperatures) emit blue, a color that is traditionally considered to be a cooler color on the color wheel.
Color temperature is measured in degrees Kelvin (K) which correlates to the hue of a specific light source. The lower the color temperature is, the more red it contains. Higher color temperatures contain more violet.
The colour of the light source measured in Kelvin (K) Most colour films are balanced for 5500K which is the colour temperature for average daylight conditions Lower values produce a yellow/orange cast, ...
Measured in terms of 'degrees Kelvin', daylight (mid-day) is approximately 5600-degrees Kelvin, a candle is approximately 800-degrees, an incandescent lamp is approximately 2800-degrees, a photoflood lamp is 3200 - 3400-degrees, ...
The colour cast of white light can be unambiguously expressed as a temperature, usually in the Kelvin scale.
COLOR TEMPERATURE - The light spectrum is scientifically described in terms of color temperature, and is measured in degrees Kelvin ( K). Photographers use three standard light color temperatures.
The color temperature is stated in degrees Kelvin (K) and represents how warm or cool the white of the monitor is.
Color Temperature - Measurement of color expressed in Kelvin. Different light sources result in different temperatures. Compact Flash - This is used as storage and is compatible with almost all digital cameras.
A method of expressing the colour content and quality of light and measured in Kelvin (K). "Photographic daylight" has a colour temperature of about 5500K.
what do you mean balance -- you can shoot 3200-3400 kelvin on inside which would automatically make the out side blue >>>> 0 Good Comment? yes no Comments (4) Write a comment ...
A measure of the colour of light whos values are found by taking one million and dividing it by the colour temperature in kelvins. A 5500k light source, for example, has a mired value of 182 (1,000,000/5500).
The controls likely will show you the color temperature in Kelvin. The low numbers (2000-3200) are bluish and progress to a strong orange at the high end (5000-6000).
