Large format camera
Large format is the bread and butter tool of the professional advertising and commercial photographer. Its a big beast that takes a massive 5x4inch or 10x8inch negative.
Large format means film that is generally at least 4x5 inches (or 9x12 cm). Film this size is generally used as individual sheets, rather than rolls as in smaller formats.

Large format describes photographic films, view cameras (including pinhole cameras) and processes that use a film or digital sensor the size of 4 x 5 inches or larger. The most common formats are 4 Ã- 5 and 8 Ã- 10 inches.

When I started using large format, the hurdle of successfully loading film holders loomed large in my mind. This seems to be the case for other people, too, although in reality, loading holders is so simple, it's not worth a moment's worry.

Is a general term for any camera having a picture format of 4x5 inches or larger. There are four main film classifications today: APS Standard Format (35mm), Medium Format, and Large Format.

Large-Format refers to the numerous photographic formats that use large negatives and cameras, i.e. a 4x5 or 8x10 negative or digital image sensor.

Large format cameras, also referred to as view cameras, are quite different than 35mm cameras. They use sheets of film instead of rolls. Each sheet can only be used for one exposure. The sheets of film come in many different sizes.
