LIGHT TRAP - An opening through which light cannot penetrate, useful for ready access to a darkroom. Typically, the entrance is u-shaped, with a light baffle built down the opening of the "U".

light trap
a passage into or out of a photographic darkroom, usually composed of overlapping portions or revolving shields that do not permit the passage of light rays from the outside.

Light trap - system of entry to a darkroom which allows easy access, but prevents unwanted light from entering.
Light value - alternative term for exposure value (EV).

Holder: Leaks at light trap for dark slide. Leaks because its warped. Leaks from defective dark slide or dark slide doesn't fit. Leak at loading flap.
Camera back: Leaks because its warped.

Hold the tank in one hand and tilt it slightly; pour the developer directly from the graduate into the tank through the light trap pouring hole. Pour as fast as you can without spilling.

Don't worry. Film comes in special film boxes, which consist of THREE nesting parts, designed to reduce accidental exposure of your film to a minimum. The parts nest together to make a light trap around the edges.

Caused by dirt or grit either on the felt light trap on the film cassette or on the film plate in the camera. Tramlines can also occur if you squeege or run wet film through your fingers to remove excess water before drying.
