Computer Screens are only 72 to 100 DPI (dots or pixels per inch). Magazines use 300 DPI for typical 150 line screens. To make a print on paper that looks as good as a contact print you need to print at 600 real DPI or more.
On top of the sharpening and grain, I added an additional Output Sharpening layer optimized for the line screen ruling of 150 lpi and the image resolution I supplied to the magazine of 300 ppi.
