The A100 takes a new NP-FM55H battery which while not carrying the InfoLithium name is apparently compatible with any other Sony DSC which used the NP-FM50, however the A100 doesn't have the InfoLithium readout.

Some cameras work with AA size batteries, others come with a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery and adapter to charge it. Both systems have their merrits.

An employee of Toshiba displays a new Lithium-ion battery 'SCiB' (Super Charge ion Battery), which can recharge to 90 percent of full capacity in less than five minutes. You can barely see the ultra-thin battery on the next page.

Most newer HP digital cameras use a rechargeable custom factory Lithium-Ion battery. These have the longest life. For older HP models that require traditional AA batteries, Lithium-Ion and Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries are recommended.
