Masking frame
Techniques Glossary Masking frame
An adjustable frame that's also known as an enlarging easel. It holds printing paper under enlarger during exposure and can be set to cover the edges to form an even white border.

>Masking frame. See Enlarging easel.
Macro lens. A lens that provides continuous focusing from infinity to extreme close-ups, often to a reproduction ratio of 1:2 (half life-size) or 1:1 (life-size).

Just give the masking frame a narrower setting. The enlargement is burned in longer in the area of the sky. The bleed on the left has also been increased to dramatize the effect. The low-speed film even leaves room for extreme bleeds.

Sandwiching
A combination of two or more negatives or film positives in the negative carrier or masking frame when printing or enlarging.
