Microfilm

Microfilm was the first photographic material considered to have enough value that its deterioration warranted reseach funding and interest.

Microfilm is a film used to produce a microscopic record of a document and intended for projection.
Microflash is an electronic flash of very short duration used to illuminate subjects traveling at a very high rate of speed.

Drawing numbers may be used to identify microfilm that may be available on the equipment or assembly. Some large assemblies are illustrated in IPBs but are not broken down sufficiently to show identifying data for their component parts.

Microfiche
A sheet of microfilm usually forming part of a filing system.
