Microphotograph is a photograph produced to a very small size which can be viewed with a microfilm reader.

96 microns

Usually, CCDs are micromanufactured into two-dimensional grids of rows and columns, each intersection comprising a pixel several microns in both dimensions.

MICRON-A unit of length in the metric system equal to 0.001 millimeter. MILLILITER-A unit of volume in the metric system. 1 mL = 0.03381 fl oz 29.57 mL= 1 fl oz 3785 mL= 1 gal MILLIMETER-A unit of length measuring 0.001 of a meter; 25.

5 microns (a micron is one thousandth of a millimeter). My old Nikon D100 had only six megapixels instead of twelve and recorded images with a maximum size of only 3008 x 2000 pixels, also on a DX-sized sensor, ...

For 25 micron star trails (i.e. stars that look like points), you need to keep the exposure under about 2 seconds with a 500mm lens. This scales with focal length, so you get only 1 second at 1000mm, or 20 seconds at 50mm.

25mm or 250 µ (micron) is the cut-off point where we decide things are no longer sharp and is called the Maximum Permissible Circle of Confusion.

Kosrae Island is truly a hidden treasure, tucked away in the Federated States of Micronesia on top of some of the most lush and healthy coral reefs in the world.

Pixel size is measured in microns. Pixel An abbreviation for picture element, it represents the basic building block of every image.

Pixel Size: Larger pixels increase signal without increasing noise. Nikon's D3, for example, uses an 8.49-micron pixel-considerably larger than the 5.49-micron pixel in the D300.

Angstrom Unit: A unit of measurement of the length of light waves. It is equal to 1/10 of a millimicron, or one ten-millionth of a millimeter. There are approximately 254,000,000 Angstrom units in an inch.

The base for APS film emulsions. Its a strong material that it accepts film emulsions evenly and, with a thickness of just 90 microns its 30% thinner than the acetate base used in conventional 35mm emulsions.
