Miniature
The most commonly available miniature cameras use the APS, or Advanced Photo System. This is a cartridge film in a 16 x 24mm format.

Miniature faking
Tilt-shift photography is also associated with miniature faking, a technique used to make ordinary scenes appear as though they have been captured with a macro lens.

Miniature Effect A Special Effect available on certain Nikon D-SLR cameras. Distant subjects captured in this mode appear as miniatures. When capturing D-movies in this mode, playback looks like a time lapse movie and sound is not recorded.

Miniature effect: Blurs the top and bottom of the scene and keeps the center sharp.

Miniature camera is a term commonly applied to cameras with a format size of less than 35mm.

When miniature still cameras were designed to use 35mm movie film in the 1920s they were called "double frame" and shot a double wide frame of 36 x 24 mm. This remains the size of today's 35mm film (still) cameras which are fast becoming obsolete.
