Negative carrier supports the negative between the light source and the enlarging lens of an enlarger.
Negative lens is a simple concave lens that causes rays of light to diverge away from the optical axis.

Whether you currently shoot film or just used to shoot film photography, chances are that you now need to convert some of those images into a digital format.

ENLARGER AND EASEL ADJUSTMENTS Insert the negative in the negative carrier so the emulsion side is down when placed in the enlarger.

The first thing is to insert the negative in the negative carrier, emulsion side down (shiny side up). If the frame numbers are correctly oriented, you are looking at the shiny side.

The filter drawer is above the negative carrier and above the condenser lens On an Omega C700, it is where the Omega name appears. Pull the tab and a small drawer pulls out. Place the filter in this drawer.

Sandwiching
A combination of two or more negatives or film positives in the negative carrier or masking frame when printing or enlarging.

1. Place the negative upside- down in the negative carrier of the enlarger. This is done so that the final posterization is not a mirror image of the desired picture.

The scanning process is essentially the same, with the only difference being the type of scanner you use, and the negative carrier.

If cost is an issue, check auction sites that have good used equipment. Make sure that the enlarger you purchase has a standard lens mount, an option for a glass-less negative carrier.

Second, the film base seems a little stiffer, which probably won't make any difference to anyone for any reason, unless there's any difficulty getting it to lay flat in some negative carriers.
