Nicd or NICAD Nikel Cadmium. Used as the backbone of most rechargeable batteries. Though not so lasting as alkaline, but have a better resistance to cold than alkaline.
NiCd - Nickel Cadmium (aka Nicad), a type of rechargeable battery. Nicad was the original type of rechargeable battery and has been pretty much replaced by the NiMH type.
NiCd battery Nickel-Cadmium battery. Ni-MH battery Nickel-Metal Hydride battery. Rechargeable batteries that have an energy density 100% higher than NiCd batteries and can supply high energy levels when required, e.g.
N NiCD ( Nickel-Cadmium ) A type of rechargeable battery. The NiCD battery was one of the first successful rechargeable batteries used in small electronics such as digital cameras. NiMH ( Nickel-Metal Hydride ) ...
NiCd Nickel Cadmium battery; now largely replaced by NiMH batteries. NiMH ...
Nickel Cadmium (NiCd or Nicad) As the first rechargeable battery for electronic devices, such as DSLRs, NiCads have given way to its successor, NiMH. Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) ...
Rechargeable AAs (NiCd and NiMH) NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable AA batteries are much better than the older NiCd (Nickel Cadmium) AAs. They have no "memory effect" (explained below) and are more than twice as powerful.
Lithium batteries and NiCd or NiMh rechargeables do not leak and can safely be left in place.
NiCd has medium energy capacity but high power density which makes it suitable for high drain devices like digital cameras.
Nickel Metal Hydride batteries are very efficient and offer about 40% more capacity than NiCD plus they don't suffer from memory effect. However they only last 500 charge and discharge cycles. NiMH batteries lose about 3% of their charge daily.
Ni-Cd - Nickel-cadmium. Also referred to as "Ni-cad". A NiCd battery is one type of rechargeable battery that should be completely discharged of its energy before it is recharged.
Lithium ion batteries Lithium batteries are lighter and more costly than NiMH or NiCd type of rechargeable cells and can be rapidly charted. Search SWPP and BPPA Information provided by: SWPP BPPA More Photographic Terms ...
The panel had reasonably fresh NiCd batteries which gives you an idea of the amount of light these panels put out. The panel is very small and easy to hand-hold, which is what I did next, holding it to my left and even closer to the subject.
Lithium ion batteries Some of the newer digital cameras are now coming with a lithium rechargeable battery pack. Lithium batteries are lighter and more costly than NiMH or NiCd type of rechargeable cells and can be rapidly charted.
