In addition to supporting Nikon NEF files though, it also gives you thumbnail support for most other types of digital camera RAW files including Fuji RAF, Canon CRW and CR2, Kodak KDC and DCR, Minolta MRW, Olympus ORF, Pentax PEF and Sigma X3F files.
ORF. The DNG format (for "digital negative") was recently created by Adobe in an effort to unify the slightly different RAW formats created by the various manufacturers.
There’s a virtual alphabet soup of formats--NEF, CR2, CRW, RAF, ORF--that can be read by the camera’s bundled software, and to a greater or lesser extent by third-party software. Regrettably, there is no standardization currently.
