OTF - Off The Film - is a method of light metering during the exposure, by measuring light reflected from the film. This article is a stub. You can help Camerapedia.org by expanding it. Read more ...
OTF Test (Optical Transfer Functions) Evaluates lens performance in terms of resolving power, contrast rendition and abberrations.
OTF - Off the film OVER-EXPOSE - Expose a photographic emulsion to more than light than is necessary for proper exposure.
OTF Off the film. A meter reading taken from the image that appears on the film surface during exposure. Its main use is for through-the-lens flash exposure readings. Bookmark This ...

OTF - Off the film.
Overexposure - A condition in which too much light reaches the film, producing a dense negative or a very light print or slide.
Yeah, Orbitron OTF is damaged for me too. I couldn't extract it from the zip. TTF worked fine, though. Reply 60 ...
The only way to truly calculate system resolution is via multiplication of the MTF of the film by the MTF of the lens [Actually you should use the OTF, optical transfer function, the MTF being the absolute value of the OTF.
For those interested, the OTF sensor is buried deep in the camera body, and is visible if you put the camera in bulb mode (ie: flip up the mirror and open the shutter) and open the camera back.
To make life even more challenging, it wasn’t even true OTF! Instead, the DX enabled flash unit would fire monitor pre flash bursts which would be read by the cameras meter.
With TTL-OTF metering, the camera closes the circuit at the beginning of the exposure, and when it detects that proper exposure is reached, it opens the circuit, cutting off the flash.
-Off the film metering is a meter which determines exposure by reading light reflected from the film during exposure. Pioneered by Olympus on its OM2n. Most flash modes have OTF.
