Over development Is a photographic term indicating that the amount of development recommended by the manufacturer has been exceeded.

Take care not to let the sharp edge of a negative scratch the emulsion of another negative. It is important to develop a good balance between agitation and rest since no agitation causes underdevelopment and over agitation causes over development.
