Perforations
Is accurately spaced holes punched throughout the length of film for still cameras. Basically the perforation function as a guide for precision registration of film and also provide mechanical movement from frame to frame.

Perforations Regularly and accurately spaced holes punched throughout the length of 35 mm film for still cameras.

PERFORATIONS - Holes punched on the sides of 35 mm film with regular spacing so that they line up with sprockets on the camera's film take-up mechanism.

These two perforations have remained by far the most commonly-used ones. BH and KS are also are known as N (negative) and P (positive) perforations, respectively.

European Format A stereo format which uses stereo pairs of 7 perforations (film sprockets) per image. This is used with the Fed, Belplasca, and some other European stereo cameras.

Certains appareils photos utilisent un rayon de lumiere IR pour voir les trous de perforations du 35mm afin de controler l'avancement de la pellicule.

Underneath the memory card door latch, behind five tiny perforations, an inbuilt speaker serves to play back audio recorded either on the soundtrack to a movie file, or as voice notation of an image.

-Sprocket holes - perforations on both edges of 35mm film, which engage with the teeth of the film transport mechanism.

35mm - A film 35mm wide with large perforations at each edge; most commonly this is used for 24×36mm frames on a roll of film wound from and subsequently back into an easy-to-load cassette.

The teeth of the drive sprockets engage the perforations along the edge of the film and move the film through the camera.

Dot pitch Describes the distance between the perforations on the monitor's shadow mask- The better displays usually have a dot pitch under 0.28mm. As with fine halftone screens, the smaller the dots, the sharper the image.
