potassium bichromate
orange red crystals sometimes used in the preparation of solutions for sensitizing carbon tissue, screen printing films, and coatings for screen printing stencils.

Potassium bichromate - chemical used in chrome intensifiers.
Potassium bromide - chemical used as a restrainer in most developing solutions and as a rehalogenizing agent in bleaches.

-Bichromate - refers to potassium bichromate or potassium dichromate, used for bleaching and as a sensitizer for gelatin.

The gelatin had previously been made light-sensitive by a bath of potassium bichromate. After washing, the image on the tissue was transferred to a paper base and the backing of the tissue was stripped off.
