An indication of resolution for digital pictures taken by a camera or scanned in.
PPI
PPI stands for pixels per inch and it measures pixel density which determines image resolution on displays, scanners and digital cameras.
PPI - The amount of Pixels per Inch in an image.
Pre-Focus - Essentially this is auto focusing achieved by holding the shutter button half way down.
Pre-Focus Time - This is the wait time for the camera to pre-focus.

(pixels per inch) defines the quality of an image's resolution. Images on the Web require only a low resolution 72 to 86 ppi. A high quality photo would require a much greater resolution or higher ppi.

PPI Pixels per inch. A commonly used unit of measure that indicates the number of pixels contained in a square inch of space. Generally, the more pixels per square inch, the greater the sharpness or resolution of an image.

Image Resolution The amount of data stored in an image file, measured in pixels per inch (PPI) or dots per inch (DPI).
All digital pictures are made up of these dots, and counting them is a measure of the image (pixels per inch, or PPI), print (dots per inch, or DPI), and camera power (millions of pixels or megapixels).
The Size/Resolution tool allows you to choose the output size for the image, this allows you to create a smaller or larger image and also change the embedded PPI (pixels per inch) which is used for printing.
