Profile
If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.

A color profile is a file that your computer uses to understand what it needs to know about any given color space.

Using lens profiles not only will make adjusting all of your files created in the past, present or future faster and easier, but quickly will give you higher-quality results.

Synthetic profile
An ICC profile created in Photoshop with specific gamma, white point, and primary values, used for correcting images with severe exposure problems.

Profile - Detailed information about the color qualities in a digital camera, also referred to as a device profile or ICC profile.
Proportional Zoom Control - The zoom is determined on how long you hold down the control.

PROFILE - Refers to specific colour settings to be used with different papers and ink sets, to create the correct colour reproduction. It is used to transform from one colour space to another.

Profile Mismatch
As long as an image contains an embedded ICC profile, Photoshop will use it for displaying the colors in your photo correctly.

IPTC Profile IPTC profile is the set of metadata fields embedded inside the digital image.

Image profiles have been developed for sRGB and other color spaces.These profiles define the colors in an image in a generic fashion and are embedded in the image at the time it's captured.

I am by no means an expert in color profiling, nor do I understand all of it. But I can give you some tips on what worked for me without drifting too much into technical jargon.

Profiles (I'll say more about profiles in a moment) are for three Epson Matte papers: Enhanced Matte (formerly known as Archival Matte), Epson Velvet, and Epson Watercolor. There are also profiles for several glossy types.

ICC Profile
The International Color Consortium describes rules on colour management. Printers, cameras etc. can have a "profile" which effectively tells one device how another "sees" colours, making accurate reproduction from device to device easier.

Avoid profiles! Use a long lens, get as far away from the subject as possible, and shoot straight on. If that's not enough, ask the nose-bearer to tilt his head slightly down, and hold the camera slightly above his eye level.

ICC Color Profile - These are embedded metadata labels, developed by the International Color Consortium to indicate the color space used to create and edit the file.

Check Enable Profile Corrections. If Lightroom does not find a suitable profile automatically, manually specify one by selecting a Make, Model, and Profile. If needed correct the sliders bellow.
To make corrections manually just click Manual.

Once the color profile has been removed from a digital image, and that edited image has been saved, you cannot restore the original full color to the file. You can however, add selected color to the picture.

Suppress Color Profile Warnings: Prevents color warnings from being shown.

There are two main types of colour profile featuring the RGB gamut. One is AdobeRGB the other is sRGB. sRGB is used on the web by browsers and many cheaper digital cameras.

Avoid face-on and profile photos that tend to give the photograph a police mug shot feel. Instead, try shooting the face from a variety of angles: start with half-profiles, where the face is halfway between full-on and profile.

It automatically picks a noise profile based on the ISO values and shutter speeds (I have 32 different profiles - one for each of the ISO values I use (100-3200) and one for the major shutter speeds (250 / 60 / 15 / 1 second / 3 seconds) that I use.
