Programmed Auto (Flexible)

The Program AE on the E-420 is flexible, this means that you can select one of a variety of equal exposures by turning the main command dial (rear of camera) left or right.

Programmed Auto Exposure A mode in which the camera automatically selects the optimum combination of shutter speed and aperture. Push-Processing Refers to increasing the development time of film.

Programmed Auto: Camera sets both shutter speed and aperture for correct exposure.
Shutter-Priority Auto: User selects shutter speed and camera sets matching lens aperture for correct exposure.

Programmed Auto Exposure Camera: An automatic exposure camera that automatically selects both the shutter and the aperture to properly expose the picture. (point and shoot) Most modern 35mm SLRs have some sort of programmed automation.

Programmed automatic. A mode of automatic exposure in which the camera sets both the shutter speed and the aperture for a normal exposure.
