Red-Eye Removal, In-Camera - A technology that instantly removes red-eye from photos right on the camera without using a PC. This feature is unprecedented: an industry first.
Red-eye removal tool looks for the red colored pixels and change them to neutral gray or black. To remove red eye from a photo zoom in close to see the affected eye better. Then click the center of the eye or drag from the center of the eye.
My favorite red-eye removal technique requires three steps. First, create a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer with the Saturation set to 0, and mask it out (fill with black).
Another technique is to use digital red-eye removal, which works by using image editing software to select the red pupils and change their hue to match the person's natural eye color.
Simple edits, like cropping, red-eye removal, etc. can make a mediocre photo look great. But use caution when making these types of edits.
HP digital cameras offer in-camera red-eye removal and automatic in-camera red-eye removal. Automatic in-camera red-eye removal allows you to set your camera control to remove red-eye before you take your photo.

The 'Edited photos' directory will contain only the edited versions of my images after perform edits like cropping, sharpening or red-eye removal. Following the above example, if I only edited PIC0001.jpg and PIC0003.
In Paint Shop Pro, select the Red-Eye Removal tool in the menu and voila, the program does all the work for you. In Ulead PhotoImpact, there's an equivalent tool called Remove Red Eye in the Tool Panel.
