Resizing can be done in two ways, by changing the number of pixels in the image, called its pixel dimensions, through a procedure called resampling. This process adds or removes pixels to make the image larger or smaller.

Depending on how you want to use your scanned images, you may need to increase or decrease your image size. If you'll want to blow up your image, scan it at a higher resolution.

Resizing is another helpful tool. For example, if the original photo image is too large or bulky to be used on a website or emailed, imaging software can effectively resize the image.
Resizing and resampling basically mean the same thing. If you size down an existing digital image you are 'resampling' it to a smaller pixel dimension, which is the same thing as lowering the pixel or image resolution.

Unlike Photoshop's resizing algorithms, which examine adjacent pixels individually, Genuine Fractals looks for repeating patterns and samples blocks of pixels of various sizes, patching them together to produce a larger version of the original.
The software then does the hard work of resizing and uploading the images for you. The programme is a little slow, but worked well, and allows lots of customisation in terms of resizing, rotating photos and adding text to pages.
Photos are exported as JPEGs with sRGB color space and maximum quality, with no resizing and a resolution of 240 pixels per inch.
The results of digital zoom are, however, sometimes superior to the results of manual cropping and resizing (interpolation) in post-production.

It should also allow you to do basic editing of your pictures.... adjusting brightness, resizing or adding special effects. You can make tons of copies so you don't destroy the original!! ...
Make sure you shoot with a tripod so that the two exposures overlay accurately (unlike in my hurried attempt, where blurring from hand-holding shows up in the interior shot and rotating / resizing was necessary to realign the images).
Now the photos are edited, but they will need further editing doing to them, usually. This normally comes in the shape of resizing for e-mailing or posting on the web. For this, I often use ImageReady ...
Unless I’m batch converting Web images I stay at the native image sizing and save any resizing for PS. Again the batch folks will size to fit their needs here.
but OMG! I was visiting the Minus Five website ( wich looks prety nice ), BUT i realy, i mean REAAALLY can't stand it when a site is autoresizing my browser, so anoying :)

Note that you can hold down the Shift key while resizing to force the filter to stay circular. You can also move the filter around by clicking anywhere inside the box and dragging the cursor while holding the mouse button down.

On a full-resolution image, the mask will be more complete due to the larger pixel sizes of each flower. Generally speaking, you'll have better results building your mask on a full-resolution file, then resizing a final version for the Web.
