rotational camera noun
a type of panoramic camera in which the entire camera rotates as the film is pulled through the camera, painting the image through a slit onto a curved film plane and producing a cylindrical projection ...

Rotation - Turning an image. For example, you might use an image editor to rotate an image to change its orientation from portrait to landscape.

rotational viscometry
a method for measuring the viscosity of a material by sensing the torque required to rotate an immersed spindle at constant speed, where the torque is proportional to the viscous drag on the spindle, ...

Rotation/Cropping
Apply in SilkyPix as it performs rotation without loss of resolution due to simultaneous enlargement of the file while rotating.

Image rotation. A feature found in some digital cameras that senses whether a picture was taken in horizontal or vertical orientation.

Rotation in focus plane is relative to its location for camera/lens with same field of view, but no shift.

A rotational motion in which an airplane turns about its lateral axis. Pushing forward on the control stick will lower the elevators, which forces the tail upward. The pilot will then see the nose of the aircraft fall or pitch.

Short rotation is a term used to define cameras that have a lens that rotates around the camera's rear nodal point (the optical point from which the focal length is measured) opposite a curved film plane.

A short rotation panoramic lens that requires a focus distance of at least 30 feet has poorer focusing ability than complete rotation lenses.

Rotate
Rotation is one of the basic photo editing tools, and is commonly used to fix portraits that have been downloaded from the camera as landscape.

To prevent rotation, camera specific QR plates have an anti-twist flange that prevents the camera from rotating on the plate. The spacing and length of this flange is unique to each camera.

Is orientation data written in JPEG metadata?

To add the rotation step, an image is opened (one that has already been converted -- not a raw file). The action is then expanded by clicking the arrow next to the action, and the Image Size step is selected (see Figure 14).

Field Rotation Rotation of the FOV over time. With an Alt-Az system that does not control for field rotation, if tracking is otherwise perfect, ...

NEW Auto Picture Rotation: A useful new function that ensures your photos are always the right way around in playback.

Most videotape recorders put at least four separate tracks on the tape: the video track that contains the picture information, two audio tracks that contain all sound information, and a control track that controls the videotape and rotation speed of ...

When doing a traditional multilayer composite, the resizing and rotation of a layer can cause image degradation.

Rotations of 90 or 180 degrees in either direction can be done relatively easily. It is also possible to crop an image so long as it is done on block boundaries beginning in the upper left hand corner.

A huge improvement in version 2 over v1 is that it reads rotation flags in JPGs, so my D70 vertical images display correctly, and the rotation command for other images just resets the flag instead of recoding the whole image.

Rotate Left/Right - You can also use the clever rotation gestures if you use a new Apple laptop
Lift/Stamp - Use this tool to copy a set of metadata and adjustments from a selected image, then "stamp" them onto another.

I noticed when shooting a manta ray circling me in a counterclockwise rotation, I was forced to drop my left shoulder low and kick furiously to keep up.

The tools consist of a magnifying tool, hand tool (for panning), a white balance tool, color selector, crop tool, straighten and two rotate buttons (which I never use since the 20D always determines the correct rotation).

Now, go back to the arbitrary rotation menu. Look! Magically, a number is filled in. This number is the exact inverse of the rotational error to the nearest 45 degrees.

Because of the rotation of the moon, there are days in which the moon will appear larger (and rightfully so). Taking advantage of these days will help you portray a more dominant moon presence.
Use the highest resolution you can.

It will preserve your rotations, priorities and image thumbnails for you. Just as importantly DigitalPro preserves your original image file date so that you can use it to find files later.

However, this is not correct when the percentage is related to the actual RAW image resolution. Capture One's image rotation tool provides for arbitrary rotation.

This not only corrects for pitch (up/down rotation) and yaw (left/right rotation), but also for vertical and horizontal motion which becomes very important when the lens is close focused and working in the macro range.

It consists of a release lever, a spring, a round tin slice with a hole and a rotation lock lever. When the release lever is used the spring causes the slice rotating once so that the hole in it passes the camera aperture.

Rotation: Rotate the spiral inside the tank for 10 seconds at the start of each minute by rotating the centre spindle. A tool to help with this would have come with the tank . If it is lost you may have to improvise.

After 30 seconds you will get "star trails" from the rotation of the earth and the stars won't show up as distinct points of light. Wide angle lenses with f/2.

You can perform basic image edits like rotation within Photoshop Album itself. Basic image editing functions like rotation, cropping and red-eye removal are readily available at the click of a button.

However, you should bear in mind that if you use exposures longer than two seconds, you start to run up against problems of blurring because of the rotation of the earth, unless you use a telescope with a tracking mount.

Silent Wave Motor : The Silent Wave Motor focuses internal lens elements using ultrasonic traveling waves which are converted to rotational energy.

I remember years ago seeing striking night time images showing the rotation of the heavens, in National Geographic magazine, and thinking they were pretty amazing.

The two screws (allen) are holding plastic parts which in turn hold two of the three swiveling parts together; the base rotation (pan) and the side to side rotation.

However, you should bear in mind that if you use exposures longer than two seconds for your lunar eclipse photos, you start to run up against problems of blurring because of the rotation of the earth, unless you use a telescope with a tracking mount.

The right arm will induce rotational motion. Closed left eye could make you loose a moving subject.
Turning the camera around allows for both arms to be tucked in. Gently squeeze the shutter, don't jerk it.

When used conventionally, the head tilts forward and back through an unusually wide arc while providing rotation for vertical shots like a normal pan-tilt head.

After breaking into the Mets starting rotation this spring, Bannister quickly posted a 2-0 record with a sparkling 2.89 ERA.

It handles all the image modification operations that you would expect - rotation, cropping, brightness/contrast, white balance, and sharpening.

After around 15 seconds, stars appear to move across the sky due to the Earth's rotation [source: Heller]. So, if you leave the shutter open long enough, you'll see star trails.

Keep the camera tilt rotation between 15-35 degrees. Anything less than 15 degrees or more than 35 degrees will look like a mistake on the final image.

As usual, the final result is up to you. It may be necessary to do some rotation and other options to get the image looking properly dependent on how close the donar image is to the original. The final result of this tutorial is below: ...

This matters a lot if you're using a polarizing filter or a graduated neutral density (ND) filter, since the properties of the polarizer vary depending on its angle of rotation and the graduation line runs across the filter in a straight line.

It incorporates an adjustable stop which prevents accidental camera rotation. Great for medium sized telephoto lenses. Compatible with most heads using hexagonal quick-release plates. Also available with 3/8 screw ...

In addition to a very stable lightweight tripod, look for one with a "ball & socket" head for good rotation of the camera on the tripod.

Portions of an image, often repeated, from which the image is composed by duplication, rotation, scaling, and translation.

The combination of the tape's movement over the head and the head's rotation permit the recording of data at a much higher rate than with a fixed head recorder.

The physicists were Fizeau and Foucault. Millions of Americans know the great pendulum of Foucault which hangs in the Smithsonian demonstrating the rotation of the earth.

Keep planetary rotation in mind - this means that your stars will end-up looking like streaks (or circles) if your shutter is open for too long. If you are using a standard 50mm lens, your longest exposure is 12 seconds before things begin to blur.

The result is greater saturation and fewer highlights to pull your eye away from the main subject. The effect is seen through the viewfinder as you spin the polarizer making the proper rotation of the filter easy to reconcile.
