Split image rangefinder - see Rangefinder.
Spool - bobbin like object consisting of a narrow core with flat disks on either end, around which the film is wound.

As with the other editing functions that Lightroom provides, you can evaluate the effect on the fly by viewing pairs of before-and-after images side by side, above and below, or as a single split image.

I have a project I've started developing - using an underwater camera to make split images showing a combination of the landscape below and above the surface of bodies of water - creeks, rivers, lakes, oceans.

They usually have a built-in adjustable optical device for focusing a camera that indicates the correct focus (as when two parts of a split image are brought together).

-Microprism collar is a grid type ring found in the center of a camera focusing screen, usually surrounding a split image screen.
-Millimicron (mµ) is one thousandth part of a micron.

A camera with a viewfinder separate from the lens. Not a SLR. Also, the usually built-in adjustable optical device for focusing a camera that automatically indicates the correct focus (as when two parts of a split image are brought together).

The track is faded to allow a graceful transition for wider browsers, and the bottom layer is an official color that represents DIS and the Daytona 500 race. This split image has the added advantage of lighter weight.
