Stock Solution
This is the liquid form of a chemical or formula. It usually is in a concentrated form, requiring dilution. Developers are usually mixed into a stock solution, and diluted for use, but not always.
Stock solution
A concentrated chemical solution that is diluted before use.

This is frequently done when two or more stock solutions must be combined to make the working solution.
Chemicals are readily available in stock solutions that can be mixed with water for use or can by made from base elements. Chemicals should never be disposed of into a sewage system. However, normal household is generally acceptable.

Kodak Selectol- Soft is another hydroquinone- free developer that can be used for print solarizations; the stock solution has about the right concentration for use as a working solution in solarization.
