Before I begin with the topic of digital studio lighting, I want to correct a misconception about lights for digital capture, especially strobes.

Studio lighting can range from simple to elaborate. What you purchase depends on the needs of your clients, the size of your studio, the size of your bank account, and the effects you want to create.

Home Based Studio Lighting
When it comes to choosing what type of lights to use in a photography studio, there are hundreds of opinions.

Key Light (studio light)
The Key Light is the main and most important light that a photographer uses when setting lights in a studio. It's typically the strongest and brightest light source.

Artificial Light - Light that comes from a fabricated source. It can refer to domestic lighting or studio lighting in the form of umbrellas and light boxes.

The problem is this: Both of these cameras take great outdoor pics, but indoors, using studio lighting and a flash, the pics are always extremely pixelated, the colors aren't right when I use a flash, and there is always redeye when I use a flash.
