Digital zoom is a form of false zoom employed in digital cameras as a marketing gimmick. A cropped portion of the image is upsized to the usual image size, and this was presented as a form of "zoom".

It is based on the Nikon D200 camera body, but utilizes Fuji's sensor technology (Fujifilm SuperCCD SR Pro) and menu system.

Fuji use their own SuperCCD while Sony uses an extra colour filter on its pixels. Foveon have developed a CMOS whereby every pixel records three colours instead of one.
