Simple Supplementary Lighting Tutorial
Episode 11 'Simple Supplementary Lighting' ...

SUPPLEMENTARY LENSES
Supplementary lenses are clamped on the front of the Nikonos lens. Their strength is measured in diopters (for example - 1, 2 or 3 diopters as the lenses increase in strength).

Supplementary lens
additional elements that can be placed over a prime lens to alter focal length and angle of view
Super macro ...

Supplementary Lens.

Generally a simple positive (converging) lens used in front of the camera lens to enable it to focus at close range.

Supplementary Close Up Lenses.
As previous mentioned, this was the first type of equipment I experienced.

Supplementary lenses - additional lens elements used with the standard camera lens to provide a new focal length.
Surface development - development process in which the image forms primarily on the surface of the emulsion and then penetrates deeper.

A supplementary flash unit (speedlight) that connects to the camera via the hotshoe or a cable, or is triggered by the light from the camera's internal built-in flash.

The supplementary weak uniform exposures given the extreme contrast films, like the Sabatier exposures, must be determined by trial and error. However, the following data may be helpful when making the first trial.

accessory
supplementary part or equipment, something nonessential but useful.
accordion fold
a series of parallel folds where each fold opens in the opposite direction from the previous fold like the bellows of an accordion.

Converter
A supplementary lens that can double the length of a telephoto lens (e.g.: 2x converter). Usually fitted between lens and camera body.

The clever use of supplementary wide-angle lenses is just as practical on a housed consumer digital as it is on a Sea & Sea MotorMarine II.

External flash: A supplementary flash unit attached to the camera. External flashes are used for many things including increased flash range and red-eye reduction.

Macro lenses are lens heads for SLR's supplementary bellows, or belong to the macro subclasses of wide-angle lenses, normal lenses, mainly zoom lenses, and even tele lenses (telemacros).

(2) A supplementary negative or positive used for the purpose of contrast correction in black-and-white prints.

Extensive supplementary equipment for macro photography and photomicrography.
Electronic flash units matching the camera's capabilities.
Mechanical or electronic remote shutter release.

External flash - A supplementary flash unit that connects to the camera with a cable or hot shoe, or is triggered by the light from the camera's internal flash. Many fun and creative effects can be created with external flash.

Shooting in the hard midday light of Summer is not often advised or used for location photography without supplementary lighting or other photographic tricks.

(Coffee and alcohol are counterproductive; they make you less able to maintain your body warmth!) And, if it's really cold, consider some supplementary heating devices, ...

Flash that is used in a supplementary manner to fill in a subject's shadow area with light, thereby reducing contrast. Also known as "flash fill" and "fill-in flash."

FILL FLASH - Flash that is used in a supplementary manner to fill in a subject's shadow area with light, thereby reducing contrast. Also known as "flash fill" and "fill-in flash." ...

Examples of using fill flash are: bringing details out of deep shadows, as a supplementary light source for dark objects in soft light, lighting the dark side of a backlit subject, and lighting the underside of a dark bird in flight.

Close-up (stills)
A shot requiring a supplementary lens, bellows, extension tubes, or macro lens to bring the subject into focus.

While it’s true that many subjects have an ideal position from which to photograph them, don’t miss out on getting all the supplementary shots that will add to your portfolio.

But this is really supplementary material for someone who really wants to delve deeper. I would be very surprised if users were ignoring it entirely, but it is not meant to be vital for it to all be read.

It can be extension tubes, bellows, or supplementary lenses.
Coated lens: A lens with coated surface such as magnesium fluoride to reduce flare.

A camera store could never sell you a "magnifying glass" for $50 so they call these things "supplementary lenses" or "close-up lenses". Good things about close-up lenses: ...

When it comes to outdoor portraiture, however, sometimes sunlight or dusk light is not enough. Sometimes, you need a little supplementary light to help enhance or create the look you're going for.

However, while most of the image has been adequately sharpened, for this stage of the workflow at least, the moon could use a small amount of additional sharpening. On the other hand, it is necessary to provide the supplementary sharpening without ...

The flash unit built into your SLR or compact camera is quite puny and not a great use beyond a few metres from the subject. That said, it’s incredibly useful especially when used as a supplementary light as opposed to being the sole light ...

In close-up photography, the distance between the front of the lens and the subject; increases as the focal length increases; important consideration when photographing shy or dangerous subjects or when using supplementary illumination.
