The initial standard VGA resolution has given way more and more to SVGA (800 by 600), XGA (1024 by 768) and even higher resolutions.

For example, a SVGA system can display 16 million unique colors, but a given program would use only 256 of them at a time if the display is in 256-color mode.

Projectors with an SVGA resolution of 800 x 600 are popular in the business market or for PowerPoint presentations because of their affordability.

There are versions available for both 800x600 (SVGA) and 1024x768 (XGA) projectors. Just use the "Publish..." command. You can create your own custom presets by simply changing some properties of a submission and then clicking "Save".

Resolution is expressed as either the number of pixels counted horizontally by the number of pixels counted vertically or by the number of megapixels. It can be expressed as one of the following formats: QVGA (320 x 240), VGA (640 x 480), SVGA (800 x ...

SVGA is the next step up in terms of resolution and covers 800 x 600. XGA define the 1024 x 768 resolution, while UXGA is used for 1280x1024 and 1600x1200. The higher the resolution the finer the image detail that can be seen.

Video Graphics Array, a format of up to 800 x 600 pixels (technically SVGA), but generally 640 x 480 pixels. VGA has its uses for web video, sending as email attachments, PowerPoint presentations etc.
