I'd probably try a used Celestron 8 in the classic 1970s fork mount (8" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, a 2,000 mm f/10 mirror lens) and the Celestron camera adapter with a T-mount for Nikon or Canon as needed.
Canon, which produced the FD lens mount (known as the breech-mount; a unique lens mounting system that combines the advantages of screw-mount and bayonet-mount) introduced their shutter priority 35 mm SLR, the Canon EF in 1976 or so.

Work the release an twist the lens to remove, with bayonet-mount lenses. To replace the lens, line up the slots, or two dots (one on the lens and one on the body) and twist until the lens clicks into place. DO NOT FORCE THE LENS! ...
