TECHNICAL CAMERA - Precision view camera made of metal. TELE-CONVERTER - a lens mounted between a camera body and a lens (usually a telephoto lens) to increase the effective focal length of the lens. Also referred to as a "tele-extender".
Technical camera Not unlike a Field Camera but is made of metal (Large or Medium format with movements on front and rear standards, but less than a Monorail!). Used in the field and the Studio, a good all rounder.

Press and technical cameras are true view cameras, as almost all of them have a ground glass integral to the film-holder mechanism that allows critical focus and full use of the sometimes limited movements.
Press and Technical cameras they are cameras with rangefinders, viewfinding devices, and could also be handheld, or at least used without ground-glass viewing, which makes it possible to do photojournalistic photography.
I used a technical camera (Linhof) with tilt shift. But I used this camera some time ago also for portraits, shot with half profie, but with both eyes in the "shifted" focus field with a very large lens opening.
