Thin Negative A negative that is underexposed or underdeveloped (or both). A thin negative appears less dense than a normal negative.

Thin
A negative that is underexposed or underdeveloped and therefore appears less dense than a normal negative. A thin neg will need a harder paper to print correctly.
(see Contrast, & Papergrade ) ...

Thin - transparent, as in the film due to underexposure
Dense - very dark, as in the film due to overexposure

Thin Negatives
If your negatives are thin, you underexposed. If you have negatives similar to these you will end up having a print that is gray and muddy.

thin film circuit
circuit made by printing conductors, resistors, and capacitors in a prescribed arrangement on a dielectric substrate, then adding complete prefabricated active components to the thin film structure.

Thin
An underexposed image or area; the opposite of Dense.
Through-the-Lens Meter (TTLM)
An in-the-camera meter that can, in the case of video, adjust the iris as you shoot.

"THIN" NEGATIVE - a negative lacking density, due to underexposure, underdevelopment or both.

For a thin lens in air, the focal length is the distance from the center of the lens to the principal foci (or focal points) of the lens.

Thin anti-reflective materials applied to the surface of a lens in one or multiple layers, to help reduce light reflection and increase amount of transmitted light.

"Thin" negative - antique term used to describe a negative lacking in density.
Through-the-lens - see TTL.

A thin, and rather flexible, cover conceals both the battery and SD card slot. The P5100 is equally happy to accommodate standard or high capacity SD cards. The EN-EL5 battery lasts for a perfectly acceptable 240 shots (in CIPA standard tests).

The thin straps that come with camera bodies are good for keeping a tight leash on your equipment. If you don't mind a bit of stretch, thick neoprene straps distribute the weight of a camera much more comfortably around your shoulder.

Micro-thin layers of gelatin on film in which light-sensitive ingredients are suspended; triggered by light to create a chemical reaction resulting in a photographic image. Basically, suspension of light-sensitive silver salts in gelatin.

These thin metal shutter blades are very fragile, and even a gentle jab or tap can knock them out of position. Any damage to these shutter blades will result in a very expensive repair job. How expensive? You don't want to know — figure $200.

Small, thin and far-away objects, traceries, textures and inscriptions become recognizable.
PhotoAcute Studio super-resolution algorithms are tuned for particular camera/lens models to achieve maximum quality.

Apply a thin coat of standard automotive grease to the male threads on each tube end being careful not to get any grease on any other parts. Then, screw the locking sleeves back into place.

A wafer-thin, matchbook size memory card. This is also a flash-memory based storage medium.

TFT Thin-Film Transistor.
A general term for high-quality flat panel displays.
TFT-based displays have a transistor for each pixel on the screen.

TFT
Thin Film Technology. Currently the highest quality of colour LC-Displays. TFT displays are used in notebooks as well as in digital cameras from OLYMPUS.

District Thin

Glue dots are thin, pressure sensitive dots of dry glue. They are easy to use and not messy. Some versions of glue dots are thicker than others and are meant to attach small objects ...

Floppy Disk: A thin, flexible plastic disk which has been coated with iron oxide, capable of storing computer data as a magnetic pattern.

Iris. A set of thin overlapping leaves in a camera lens that pivots outward to form a circular opening of variable size to control the amount of light that can pass through a lens. See also diaphragm.

negatives, or negatives containing many heavily exposed areas, contain less water and dry faster than thin negatives.

And the profit margins for cheap products tend to be very thin. The price differential between Canon and third party isn't huge when it comes to super-cheap lenses, so I don't know if third party lenses are such a great idea in this case.

The best screen technology is currently active matrix thin film transistor (TFT).
Adjustable brightness, especially auto adjustment, improves the display of your images as the ambient light changes.

Corrector Plate Thin lens-like optical piece which removes certain optical aberrations. Corrosion An unwanted electrochemical process that affects device (e.g., semiconductor, telescope-mounts etc.) reliability.

On the upper surface of the glass is a specimen in a thin layer of water. Since the refractive index of glass (1.5) is higher than that of water (1.33), the light is reflected off the undersurface of the cover glass.

This is not a coincidence - if you hold a piece of thin white cloth in front of your flash, you can often drastically decrease the problem with red eyes, because the light gets diffused and "bounces" around in the room before it hits your subject ...

These are very thin mounts with grooves that slide and lock securely into the tray so they don't fall out when the tray is tipped upside down. 100 can be held in the same space as a 50 capacity universal tray but the mounts have to be CS type.

Protect Your Gear: Fog can be thick or thin. The thicker it is, the greater the potential to build up condensation on your camera, lens, tripod and front element.

One technique I have found useful is to use a small clamp, without teeth, attached to a thin metal or wood rod stuck in the ground to hold the flower in place and to minimize motion. Be careful not to include the clamp in the final shot.

A small aperture such as F8 will make the burst trails thin and dark, whereas a larger aperture such as F2.8 will make them thicker and lighter. Whether to record the trails as thin or thick is a matter of preference.

For interference to occur, there must be an object (such as a body of water) with a thin, transparent layer (such as a film of oil) on top.

The DSC-T90 Cyber-shot® digital camera is ultra thin, merely 5/8" in width, it is very stylish very elegant. It's the perfect fit for your small purse or pocket. Its not all about an impressive appearance though, it packs a powerful punch.

When you look through a UV filter, the thin, clear piece of glass inside a plastic or metal ring doesn't seem to block any light at all.

However if you want your images to sit in the middle of white page so there’s space for them to “breath' they might well benefit from a thin black border to help separate the image from the page.

And in fact it's that thin line that pushes most bodies of work. Nudes have been a part of photography from almost its origins.

If you expose several rolls of film, and they all come out consistently too thin, and you are pretty certain you are doing everything correctly, you can change the ASA setting to a lower rating for that film.

Wide, spectacular border lines are obtained with thin layers of color developer (that is, with print manipulation methods B and C).

He realized that "you can be very thin, spread very wide, or you can try to narrow it down and go deep. Without even knowing it, without articulating it in my brain, I was looking for something that I could get deeply involved in.

Whether you get ideas from thin air or by seeing images that make you say, "How did they do that?", give them a try. Especially with digital where images are "free", it only costs a little time to experiment and good things can happen.

This produces a long thin image. There is nothing special here, all it does is use the middle of the negative and blow it up several times so that it covers the size of 2 prints.

They begin as thin sheets of iron, covered with a layer of black paint. This serves as the base for the same iodized collodion coating and silver nitrate bath used in the ambrotype process.

These are usually thin metal rods coated with a combination of fuel, an oxidizer, powdered metal - usually iron, steel, or aluminum that creates the sparks, and a binder to hold all this stuff onto the rod.

This cord if fairly thin and can be easily broken but can fire a flash from a great distance if necessary. The purpose of sync cords is to allow the camera to control the flash, so the flash fires at the correct time.
