Many digital cameras allow the playback of stored images to be viewed as thumbnail size. This makes it quicker to look through several pictures and highlight the one you want to erase, view or print.

By knowing layout size and using a thumbnail page or by extending a photograph or title across the sketch to determine relative size, you can determine gutter (margins between pages). the exact size to print the photographs.

A thumbnail image is actually created at the time you take a picture. In a JPEG image it is stored in the image file as metadata and goes anywhere it goes.
A thumbnail of the currently selected image is displayed in the bottom of the PhotoAcute Studio window. The red rectangle in the thumbnail designates the area being shown in the right pane. You can drag this rectangle to scroll the image.
