TRANSPARENT MAGNETIC LAYER - Thin layer of magnetic particles coating the surface of APS (Advanced Photo System) film that records information such as the picture size selected by the photographer and processing data.

A transparent magnetic layer records information that helps the photofinisher make better
prints; as well as recording shooting data and other information that can be backprinted on
the photographic print.
