Simple sheet or uncorrected molded glasses do not compensate for the 250 nanometer difference in the wave lengths of the red-cyan filters.
These elements are able to focus different wave lengths of one light ray in one point (see picture below). These elements are quite expensive and usually not used for cheaper lenses.
During the middle of the day when a cloud cover has obscured the sun, some of the red and yellow wave lengths of light are absorbed by the minute water droplets of the clouds.
The wave length of strobe is shorter so you get a faster fall off. If you want a dramatic fall off from light to dark, strobe is the way to go. If you want the light to fall off more gently, go for hot lights ...
Lithograph These films are sensitive primarily to blue wave lengths and can safely be handled in red or amber safe lights. Use is primarily in the graphic arts field because of its very high contrast.
