Spiraea Astilboides - A moisture-loving plant of unusual merit, happiest on the banks of a stream or pond. It is quite distinct, the inflorescence much branched, and the flowers of a creamy white closely packed on the stems.

Heuchera belongs to the family Saxifragaceae which contains other ornamental plants such as astilbe, astilboides, bergenia, mukdenia, saxifraga, rodgersia, and tiarella.

Arends Nursery, today being run by his granddaughter, has produced most of the hybrid astilbes in the marketplace today. Arends used four species in most of his crosses, Astilbe japonica, A. thunbergii, A. astilboides, and A. chinensis.
