Growing Basil
Sow seeds in Spring on a moist potting mix in a smallish pot, just a few seeds per pot, then sprinkle compost over the seeds and place in a warm spot. The seedlings will sprout in about 14 days if kept moist and warm.

Basil is the most popular of all herbs. Its flavor has been described as spicy and peppery, with a hint of clove and mint. It goes well with olive oil, garlic, lemon, rosemary and thyme. Cut basil leaves as needed for the kitchen.
