Phegopteris hexagonoptera
( Broad Beech Fern )
Deciduous fern with broad and triangular-shaped, light green fronds, to 16 inches long. Grow in moist, shady border. Do not let soil dry out.

Broad Beech Fern (Phegopteris hexagonoptera): This upright growing, deciduous fern grows 12 to 24 inches tall. Grow in light to full shade. Prefers constant moisture but can stand some drought.

phegopteris (Beech Fern), well known to all Fern lovers. They thrive best in peat, loam, and sharp sand, with some broken lumps of sandstone, and prefer a dry situation in the rock garden, or any situation which is not fully exposed to the sun.
