Blue-bell Creeper (Sollya) - Beautiful evergreen climbing shrubs from Australia, mostly grown under glass but hardy in the open air in the warmest parts of the south-west of England, Wales, and Ireland.

 


Bell Rhododendron is a wild species of rhododendron found in the Himalayan alpine regions of Northern India, Bhutan, and Nepal. It is a spreading shrub, 2-6 m tall. Its leaves are very interesting.

'Authur Bell' is a floribunda rose with cupped, double, scented, yellow to cream flowers and shiny, bright leaves. In general, roses are a large group of flowering shrubs, most with showy flowers that are single-petalled to fully double petalled.

Bell Peppers

A mild, sweet flavored, bell shaped pepper, which is one of the most common varieties of sweet peppers. Most bell peppers are green at maturity but turn red if not harvested until fully ripe.

Bell peppers measuring 3 inches wide by 4 inches long usually have three or four lobes and a blocky appearance. They are commonly harvested when green, yet they will turn red or yellow when fully ripe. About 200 varieties are available.

Bell peppers should be picked when they are firm and 3 to 4 inches long. Do not pull the peppers off the plant. Pulling can hurt the plant. They need to be cut off the plant.

Bell-shaped blooms of yellow, white, pink, orange, or red dangle in clusters among maple-like green leaves that are sometimes variegated with white.

Bell peppers grew and sold well, in part because early summer here was cool and wet, and many customers bought our produce because they didn't believe they'd get any peppers from their own gardens. We tried 'Ace', 'Klondike Bell', and others.

The bell-shaped flowers of Spanish bluebells and the hybrids between this and the English (known as H. Ã- massartiana) open more widely than on English bluebells, with the petal tips just flaring outwards or curling back only slightly.

Pink bell shaped flowers appear in the summer and are followed by edible red cranberries. This attractive matt forming evergreen shrub has dark green leaves that often turn shades of bronze in winter.

Tricyrtis ishiiana (Weeping Toad Lily) (syn. Tricyrtis macrantha var. ishiiana) This rare Japanese toad lily is very similar to Tricyrtis macrantha and will probably become a subspecies of it.

Bell-shaped, bright blue, white, rose, lavender, purple or pink flowers float above toothed, bright green foliage. Excellent for borders and cutting. Prefers cool nights and light shade in hot areas; neutral to alkaline, moist, well-drained soil.

Be they tubular, bell or saucer-shaped, the flowers of most species are either pendulous and solitary, or bloom in clusters or umbels. Flowering from spring to midsummer, fritillary bulbs are fragile and should be handled with care.

Spikes of hanging bell-shaped, rose-pink blossoms poke up from scalloped, glossy green leaves. Unlike traditional foxgloves, the petals of the bell lip flare open and outward. The prolific blooms are long-lasting and will repeat bloom for 3-4 months.

Large clear yellow bell shaped flowers bloom along the stem in late summer and early Fall. This is one of the best toad lilies but it is slower to spread making an impressive clump in 2-3 years.

Red Columbine is a Texas Native that has 1-4" bell-shaped and spurred blooms of contrasting red and yellow colors. The nodding flowers appear in Spring on long stems held above dark green foliage.

Ritchie Bell, author of the Flora of the Carolinas, only the deciduous species are still in the genus Asarum, the evergreen types are now placed in the genus Hexastylis. Asarum canadense is most common in moist rich woods in light to dense shade.

How to Grow Cathedral Bell Flowers:
Cathedral Bells tolerate a variety of soils. For maximum growth potential, provide a rich soil with plenty of organic matter. Soil should drain well.
