This long-blooming, compact Amsonia selected from A. tabernaemontana seedlings at White Flower Farm is possibly a hybrid with the taxonomically challenged A. montana.

Blue Star, Arkansas Amsonia
Easy-to-grow perennials and shrubs with light blue, star-shaped flowers clustered at the end of stalks. Plants have a white, milky sap. Likes cool climates and moist soil.

Blue Star is a tough, evergreen perennial, to 18 inches wide, with lance-shaped, basal leaves and light blue and white, Aster-like, large flowerheads held terminally on upright stems, up to 24 inches tall.

'Blue Star' jumiper is a slow-growing, compact, evergreen shrub with a mounding shape. Its silver blue foliage is attractive in all seasons, and its blue, berry-like, female cones each contain one seed, hence its common name.
