Buddleia spp. is a native to China. Buddleia x 'Honeycomb' is a new introduction from UGA's Mike Dirr it is everblooming with fragrant orange-eyed deep yellow flowers and performed outstandingly in the field trails held at University of Georgia.

A tender evergreen that is only suited to the mildest sites, this buddleia grows 1-2m (3-7ft) high and has long lance-shaped leaves hanging from slim branches.

"Nanho Blue" is a semi-dwarf central Chinese subspecies of the common Butterfly Bush, Buddleia davidii nanhoensis.

This perennial plant is a native to China.The clusters of tiny flowers form form atop spikes sometimes reaching 15' tall. The fragrant flowers may be purple, pink, blue, white, or red. The leaves are long and course.

Growing buddleias in the garden is easy as long as enough room is provided to make an effective display. It should have at least 6 hours of direct sunlight and a normal garden soil.

Butterfly Bush (Buddleia). The sweetly scented, bottlebrush flower clusters are absolute magnets for a wide variety of butterflies. This durable plant will thrive in almost any well-drained soil as long as it is in a sunny spot.

The former include introduced species of Logania (native to New Zealand and Australia) and several species of buddleia, or butterfly bush (genus Buddleia, sometimes considered a separate family).

Splendid in butterfly beds with buddleias, ixora, and lantana. Also a wonderful annual when planted in drifts of uniform color. Pentas is probably underused in landscape flowerbeds.

Day-flying moths, such as silver-Y moth and the impressive hummingbird hawk moth, can be lured with sea lavender, buddleias, Centranthus rubra and Lychnis.

Attracts butterflies. Grows well in well-drained rocky soil. Has Fragrant Flower. SelecTree lists no cultivars of alternifolia.

Black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia fulgida) and Coneflowers (Echinacea purpurea) provide nectar for Monarchs, Swallowtails amd Fritillaries, and the Butterfly Bush (Buddleia davidii) is an excellent butterfly-attracting shrub.

Butterfly bush (Buddleia davidii) is in this later category. Adaptable to gardens as far north as Boston and as far south as Florida, this group of plants offers a wide diversity in flower color, leaf color and texture, and plant size.

Add lilies or a honey-smelling Buddleia to a pot containing a shrub. With some planning it is possible to provide wonderful fragrance outdoors around the year. Herbs grown for their aromatic leaves will add a subtle scent to a plant group.
