Hylocereus undatus or Night-Blooming Cereus, is widespread in the American tropics. Its exact origins are unknown. The stems are 3-winged and green with wings that are 1 to 2 inches wide.

Cryptocereus anthonyanus (formerly Selenicereus anthonyanus) is an epiphytic cactus from Mexico. It can be grown either in orchid substrate, or in regular cactus potting soil with a bit of humus added.

Some of the cacti known as night-blooming cereus are actually species of Epiphyllum. But that's OK; night-blooming jasmine (Cestrum nocturnum) is not a jasmine (Jasminum sambac, for example).
